Dr. Caroline Amanda McDonald, DO
Consulting Physician | Psychiatry, Regenerative & Functional Medicine
Treating the whole patient, mind and body, through precision psychiatry and regenerative medicine.
Most physicians train to specialize in one system of the body, or one side of a patient’s health. Dr. Amanda McDonald trained to see both. As a board-certified psychiatrist who has spent much of her career building and leading her own integrative practices, she treats mental and physical health as one connected system, not two separate conversations. At Longevity Centers of America, she brings that dual lens to patients looking for answers conventional care hasn’t been able to give them.

The Philosophy
Mental Health and Physical Health Were Never Separate
Over more than a decade in practice, Dr. McDonald has treated patients across some of psychiatry’s most demanding settings: inpatient psychiatric emergency departments, addiction and opioid recovery programs, geriatric consult services, and independent medical evaluations for the court system. That range gave her an unusually complete view of how mental health, physical health, and chronic illness intersect, and how often standard care misses the connection between them.
Rather than stopping at a diagnosis and a prescription, Dr. McDonald built her own practices around a broader model of care that pairs psychiatric treatment with regenerative and functional medicine: IV nutrient therapy, ketamine-based psychotherapy, ozone and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and cellular and regenerative treatments designed to support the body’s own healing response.
This integrative approach is the foundation she brings to LCOA.
Clinical Expertise
A Career Built Across Psychiatry and Regenerative Medicine
As a physician-owner in Sarasota, Florida, Dr. McDonald has built and led several concierge and specialty practices combining psychiatric care with advanced IV and regenerative therapies, including full psychiatric evaluation and medication management, ketamine-based psychotherapy, mobile IV therapy, and a broad range of peptide protocols.
Her regenerative medicine background includes hands-on experience with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and allograft stem cell therapy, including novel applications in prostate and middle ear injections. She is a co-creator of Blue PRP, a platelet-rich plasma protocol that incorporates methylene blue directly into soft-tissue injections, expanding what both therapies can accomplish on their own. Her broader clinical toolkit includes ozone therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, photobiomodulation, high-dose IV vitamin C, chelation therapy, and cosmetic and sexual health regenerative procedures.
Earlier in her career, she helped develop clinical protocols for Spravato (esketamine) therapy, and she brings extensive experience treating impaired healthcare professionals and conducting independent medical evaluations, work that demanded both clinical precision and the ability to explain complex findings clearly, including as an expert witness in court.

Bringing a Dual Perspective to Longevity Medicine
What sets Dr. McDonald apart isn’t just her range of training, it’s how she connects it. Patients rarely arrive with a problem that fits neatly into one specialty. Fatigue, brain fog, mood changes, and burnout often sit at the intersection of hormones, inflammation, nervous system health, and mental health, and Dr. McDonald is one of the few physicians equipped to evaluate all of it at once. At Longevity Centers of America, she brings that same standard: listen fully, treat the whole patient, and build a plan around the person in front of her, not just their labs.
